What is METAnovel?

METAnovel is a social experiment, the idea being to utilize an entire community to work on creative projects, specifically a novel. All components of the novel are submitted and decided upon by you, the user. Long story short, METAnovel is collaborative fiction with a social networking twist. How does it work?

You, or any other user can submit an idea to METAnovel. Then, that idea gets put up for a vote by the rest of METAnovel's users. If it passes, it's in. Simple as that. Our social networking features allow you to add friends and follow others, as well as creating guilds to write as a group. Authorized members of a guild can then submit the guild's work on behalf of the entire group. It's all about the interaction.

How much does it cost?

It's 100% free. The site is completely ad supported. No subscription fee and no paid extras means no limitations for you.

What if I'm not a writer?

Perfect! METAnovel is designed for everyone, so submitted ideas need only enough written to portray the idea to your fellow users. If you are a writer, then you take these ideas and compile them in your prose. Even if you don't want to submit ideas, you can still come and vote, and have your voice heard in the creative process.

What else can I do?

Fear not! METAnovel has a wiki has as well, and we'll need plenty of people to update it, keeping a running track of the novel's details for users to reference in their submissions. Even if you're just a lurker -- not the interactive type -- you can still come and read!
